Asbestos Update:

Dear Faculty, Staff and Parents:

The Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) requires our school to notify the faculty, staff and parents of the presence and status of asbestos containing materials in our school buildings. The law further requires a management plan based upon the initial inspection. Since that times, we continue to conduct periodic surveillances and re-inspections to ensure the asbestos containing materials remain in good condition and do not pose a hazard to our students and staff.

We conducted the required six month surveillance on June 3, 2016 and will complete the next surveillance in December 2016.  Proactive measures were taken to address any areas of concern. A copy of the inspection report and the Asbestos Management Plan is available for your review in our school office or a the Environmental Services Unit of the Department of Education.  Please contact Shelly Carreira at 305-7300 for additional information.
