This letter went out to Parents from Mrs. Kaka:

Aloha Families,

I have received overwhelming concern in regards to La’ie Elementary’s decision to use the distance-learning program Acellus.

La’ie Elementary’s ability to find success in implementing Acellus is dependent on the participation of all our students and the support of their families.  Our team met this morning and decided that it would be in the best interest of our students and the school as a whole, not to use the Acellus program.

Our teachers will continue to plan and prepare for 100% distance learning in La’ie Elementary fashion, with dedication and resolve to provide the best for their students.

Please plan for the following:

August 17-20:

“Meet and Greet”-Teachers will be scheduling a day and time for parent and student to:

·      Meet with classroom teacher

·      Receive tech equipment, books, materials, and learning packets

·      Discuss goals and expectations

·      Receive instructions on tech equipment and platforms for distance learning

August 24-September 11:

School Faculty will provide distance learning instruction.

Thank you,

Eliza Loha Kaka

Principal

La`ie Elementary School
