School Song & Oli

Laie Elementary School Song

Na Keiki O Laie

Ke kula o Laie,

Our home away from home.

Between the mighty mountains

and warm Pacific's foam.

Ke kula o Laie,

a happy place to be,

with teachers, friends and lessons too,

and fun for you and me.

(Chorus)

Oh, Laie,

Beautiful Laie,

Ke kula o Laie,

Our school beside the sea.

(Verse 2)

Ke kula o Laie,

a gath'ring place for youth.

To search for hidden knowledge

and seek the paths of truth.

Ke kula o Laie,

you mean so much to me,

We'll honor and remember you

where ever we may be.

(Chorus)

Oh, Laie,

Beautiful Laie,

Ke kula o Laie,

Our school beside the sea.

Leo Kūpuna

(No nā Keiki o Ke Kula o Lā‘ie )

Kū mākou i ka malu Ko‘olauloa ē

‘Olu‘olu ka nani o Lanihuli ē

Pua mai nā pua like ‘ole ē

Mau nō ka leo kūpuna

Translation:

We stand in the shadow/protection of Ko‘olauloa

We are refreshed/invigorated by Lanihuli (the beach fronting Lā‘ie Elementary School)

The flowers (children) will blossom or emerge, come forth - many different blossoms

Forever will the voice of the Kūpuna (ancestors) or knowledge of our ancestors be passed on
